Andor star Diego Luna finally shared a new production update for the highly-anticipated Season 2 of the hit Star Wars series. Speaking with Variety, Luna confirmed that he only has a week left of shooting for Andor Season 2, after its production in the UK was temporarily delayed by last year’s major Hollywood strikes.
"The good thing about Andor is we know it has an ending. It's nice to work knowing there's an ending. You can aim for something," Luna said as he teased the epic end of the Disney+ series.
"I have seven days [left to shoot]. Tomorrow I'm flying back to London and we're finishing this. The first season we shot under very hard circumstances with the pandemic and now the strikes this time. The party's going to be worth it."

Diego Luna shares his Star Wars casting story, revealing that director Gareth Edwards was the one who convinced him to join Rogue One. Due to the filming delay, the initial release schedule of Andor Season 2 has officially been changed, as it’s no longer expected to make its debut in Fall 2024.
In a recent press release, Disney confirmed that The Acolyte and Skeleton Crew are the only Star Wars shows currently part of Disney+’s 2024 TV slate. Besides Luna, the final installment will also feature the return of Adria Arjona as Bix Caleen, Stellan Skarsgård as Luthen Rael, Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma, Denise Gough as Dedra Meero, and Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera.
As for Andy Serkis’ Kino Loy, who played a key role during the thrilling prison escape in Episode 10 of Andor Season 1, the Lord of the Rings vet remained coy about his character’s potential return in Season 2. "All that we do know is that he survives," he said. "I mean, we don't see him die. We see him left for a further life of the character. But prior to that, there were no discussions at all about [what] might happen afterwards."

In a previous interview, showrunner Tony Gilroy teased Andor Season 2’s ending, confirming that the final arc will revolve around "the last three days before Rogue One." Gilroy also opened up about the titular character’s transformation into the leader he was destined to become. "The next four years [of story] are not about becoming a revolutionary," he said.
"They're about learning to be a leader and how difficult it is to put the alliance together and what happens to people who are the original gangsters versus the establishment and a lot of other issues... I'm hoping what we're gonna do in the second half [of the series] will make the meal feel really satisfying."
Since the show’s nearing the events of Rogue One, some Star Wars fans were hoping to see Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso again in Andor Season 2. In May 2023, even though Jones denied the fan speculations regarding her impending Star Wars return, the Oscar nominee did express her hopes at potentially seeing Jyn Erso again on screen. "I'm afraid to say I won't be, but I still have hope for Jyn Erso at some point to make a comeback. But no, sadly I won't be," Jones said.
