A Young Sheldon season 7 video shows off what could be the show's first Christmas episode. The Coopers are heading for their final year on the air, but before they fully say goodbye, The Big Bang Theory prequel still has a lot of lingering plots to address. Besides those arcs, however, it also appears as if Young Sheldon season 7 is staging a special holiday-themed outing.

Coordinating producer Steph Spetrino has shared a video from the set of Young Sheldon season 7 that shows the Cooper family home all decorated for Christmas. The clip was taken during the show's Christmas party, which may explain the twinkling lights. Coupling this with a previously released snap shared by Raegan Revord showing the actual street also lit up for the holidays, the house may be all decked out for Christmas for narrative purposes.

Why Young Sheldon Never Doing A Christmas Episode Is Odd

Throughout Young Sheldon's six years on the air, it has never done a Christmas-themed episode. While not all shows devote content to the holidays, it's specifically odd for the spin-off, considering Mary's religious leanings. As a devout born-again Christian, she fully believes in Jesus and his story.

One would assume that she would be more active in celebrating his birth. Sheldon did mention that her mom went all-out during Christmas in The Big Bang Theory, but Young Sheldon never actually showed any of those antics.

Young Sheldon Season 7 Will Be The True Big Bang Theory Prequel We've Been Waiting ForA brand new detail about Young Sheldon season 7 confirms that the spin-off will finally be The Big Bang Theory prequel that it's supposed to be.

What makes Young Sheldon season 7's potential Christmas outing stranger is the fact that Mary hasn't kept in touch with her church since being fired by Pastor Jeff due to the unexpected pregnancy of Georgie and Mandy.

Instead, she has devoted her time and effort to her family, which helped in addressing some of her marital issues with George. At the end of Young Sheldon season 6, she accompanied Sheldon to Germany — something that she may not have been able to do if she was still tied up to her congregation.

Young Sheldon season 7's possible Christmas episode gives the family something to celebrate before a string of changes head their way. Per The Big Bang Theory canon, George's death is near, which means that sooner rather than later, the family could lose their patriarch. On top of that, Sheldon is also due to move out of Texas, which will likely happen at the end of the season.
